We gots new collars!

Yiipppee! New collars and leashes and all sorts of fun stuff. Honestly all I really care about is my supper, but Mom is all excited about the collars.  I have a pretty new pink collar and Rainy has a pretty new purple one.

Rainy's foot is getting better slowly... She even got to go visit our neighbor a few days ago with Daddy! I was so sad all alone at home. I stared at the door, and cried and stared some more hoping my mind powers would make them come right back. Then I got a greenie! Yum! I ran back into my crate to eat  that really quick then stared at the door some more.  Finally I got really sleep and mad! How dare Daddy just take Rainy somewhere! I'm doing better with strangers I should be allowed to go too! Off I stomped to the bedroom and I laid on the big bed until they got back home.  I didn't even go to the door to see them. Daddy knew I was mad! He needed BRING me a milkbone to make it all better. Then I ate it and got crumbs all over his side of the bed.

I started taking these essential oils to help me with the scary strangers and I think they might be working.  I'm hoping Rainy feels all better soon so we can start going to the park again....

Big Brave Bear

Hello! Sunshine here, it's been such a long time since our last update here. I am doing awesome! Still having the occasional potty accidents, but I promise I am trying really hard! I went o my very fist Meet and Greet last weekend all by myself. Mom kept telling me we had a very important job to do so we could help other houndies get a super home like Rainy and I.

It was very scary! All these strangers wanted to pet me and all these new dogs shoved into a tiny pen.  I was a good pupper and didn't even try to jump out once! The strangers were outside the pen so DUH no way was I jumping out. Some little girl fed me a cookie and later that day I even let her pet me real quick. I was much less scared when people snuck a pet in on my butt. What I didn't see coming wasn't too scary. Mom forgot her camera and her phone broke so she could take any pictures of my braveness. The nice scary people invited us back so I will remind her to bring the camera next time.

Rainy hurt her foot and is limping around. Sometimes she forgets that it hurt and jumps around on it. Everyone yells at her for doing that. But not me since I'm a good girl now. She's gets this medicine squirted into her mouth and I want some so badly! Not fair if we don't both get some...

I started liking to chew bones! Before I would take a frozen bone from Mom and Dad take it to my crate then come back asking for a super yummy pig ear. Not anymore. I've been chomping on venison bones, beef necks, etc. My teefers are really sharp and pearly white now. A vicious puppy who should be feared!

I'm not getting yelled at as much about barking at the strange noises outside the door.  The neighbors keep commenting that I'm a guard dog. Ops guess I'm a little too loud.

Daddy said we could change my color to pink! I look so much cuter in pink! bye bye blue! Now we are waiting for the new collars to come in the mail. I'm getting a pink one with my name in sparkles.

Well I have to go finish chewing my beef neckbone.

Brave dog park run today

We rushed to the dog park right before it got dark hoping no one else would be there... Everyone else had the same idea!

We almost went into the empty small dog park but decided to see how they would be with the current dogs in the large area. *Our* dogs were the best behaved of course. They pretty much stuck to themselves chasing balls/Frisbees. No other dog was interested in running with them. Our only two incidents were when Rainy started bullying Sunshine and a shepard husky mix decided to join in and gang up on the shy one.  At one point I was straddling Sunshine and shoving the other dog away since he wouldn't leave her alone! Kept coming in to bite at her! After 4-5 verbal and physical corrections from he his owner got a clue. Stupid dog park people... Then a black lab came in and I told Chris "watch that dog! He's going to be an issue. I think he's going to mount the other dogs and it probably won't be Rainy since she will kick his ass"  20 minutes later the dog tried to mount Sunshine who let out the GSOD.

Other than that we had a pretty successful trip to the dog park. We left asap when we saw a dog totally out of control walking up form the parking lot. The owner tried to do a Caesar Milan touch move with his leg and the dog totally ignored him LOL Yup time to leave...

Both girls are exhausted!

Sunshine couldn't even make it all the way into the crate.

Hope Sunshine doesn't feel gassy...

Tonight for the supper the pups had
Rainy: 1lb of tripe, 3/4 lb ground chicken necks
Sunshine: 1/2 lb tripe, 1/2lb whole chicken necks

Nothing much to report

Life has been pretty normal here lately. We got our Xmas tree and both pups were bored with it after inhaling a few needles.

Here are a few pics of their new recent love of the couch

Hope this works... Here is a video of How to Dremel a dogs nail

I've had some interest about the raw feeding lately so I'm going to try and post what the pups eat each day

Last night Rainy had; Some liver, ground chicken necks, tripe, left over spaghetti and meatballs plus a left over burger (it was clean the fridge out day) Sunshine had the same only whole chicken necks since she will happily chomp on them. :)

A Greyhound's Christmas Wish

Dear Santa to you I make my wish,
This could be my very last Christmas list.
No time to be frivolous, I must hurry you see,
I'm no longer the best, they no longer want me.

I've heard of places where there are soft beds,
Sofas and pillows to lay your head,
Plenty of food and toys for play,
People who hug you night and day.

I've heard of the warmth the hugs can bring,
And car rides to get you wonderful things,
Large spaces to roam when you feel the need,
A place they will love me for being just me.

My wish, Dear Santa, I clearly state,
My hope as I sit closed tight in this crate,
To ask for myself I know is not right,
But please bring a family to love me tonight.
